About the project: This is a school wide project that involved assigning each class to bring in a specific item to their homeroom. National Junior Honor Society and Student Council collected, sorted, and placed items into bags to be delivered to the children at Forever Families. We are especially proud for our students’ leadership in facilitating a service project that supports other children in need. We also thank Mrs. Ileana Garcia and Mrs. Debbie Mendez for guiding our students through this wonderful service project.

What a great day! It was a day of firsts: first time boating, kayaking and fishing! Stay tuned for their stories on NBC 6 South Florida in partnership with Children's Services Council of Broward County Florida and ChildNet.
Another reminder today of how truly blessed I am to have my job. I spent the afternoon at NASA's Kennedy Space Center with these amazing young people in foster care. We were shooting stories for our Forever Family reports. They have such diverse personalities: from a quiet, shy young man, to a young lady who is truly a diva in training. But they all have one thing in common. They simply want to be in a family where they are safe, encouraged and loved. I can't wait for you to meet them over the next few weeks on Channel 9 Eyewitness News at 4.
100 Percent of dollars go to this family! We are so sad to report the passing of one of our precious adoptive parents. Janet Remy and her husband Paul have adopted 6 siblings. Janet has lost her battle with cancer. Dad Paul is going to need all of the support that we can provide him.
You can make a tax-deductible contribution. Thanks to NBC 6 South Florida and the Children's Services Council of Broward County, 100 PERCENT of your dollars will go directly to help these children and their widowed dad. No donation is too small.
All donations to Forever Family between Sept 9, 2014 and October 9, 2014 will go to this family unless specified otherwise. Please Donate Here: Forever Family

"The Giving Star"
"Gia Tutalo-Mote has opened the hearts of millions of Floridians with her smile on television. Her warming persona comes across in her NBC 6 Forever Family television segments dedicated to foster children and those "aging out" of foster care. She brings attention to the issues that surround foster care in a unique way, and also produces several other Forever Family segments on TV across Florida and North Carolina. Since she founded Forever Family in 2002, Tutalo-Mote has garnered more than 20 million dollars in free media airtime for her cause, and has also raised nearly a million dollars in cash and in-kind services for medically needy children and those leaving foster care without families. She also mentors these teens that transition to new homes, with the care and warmth that the mother of two children has always nourished in her lifetime. She is powerful for giving so much back. Her numerous awards include the Congressional Angel in Adoption Award, and the Health and Human Service's Adoption Excellence Award, both presented in Washington, DC for her outstanding advocacy." - Art Bodega, Spring 2014
